SPREADSHEET WORKSPACE

Practical Guides for Combining Sheets

These spreadsheet guides turn common reporting tasks into checks you can repeat: select the right inputs, inspect headers, choose an output, and compare the result with your originals. Use them alongside the tools when you need a monthly table, a check on saved formula values, or separate files for different teams.

Spreadsheet guides with small examples

Start with sales-january.xlsx and sales-february.csv. Their different column orders show why header matching matters. February adds Sales Rep and contains one repeated January record, so you can also check missing cells and whole-row duplicate removal.

For worksheet selection, use regions-q1.xlsx. It contains North, South, and West data plus a hidden Notes sheet. Check the selection before combining or splitting the regional sheets.

Choose the result before the tool

Use the main merge tool for one combined table or one workbook with separate sheets. Follow the CSV workflow when the next system needs a text table. Choose worksheet splitting for separate editable files, or worksheet PDFs for reading copies with a rebuilt layout.

Every workflow processes file data in your browser and exports values only. Formula expressions and formatting are not kept. Recalculate and save formula-based reports before processing, retain the originals, and open the downloaded result to check rows, identifiers, and totals. The guides below explain those checks in context.
